Following the consistory court judgement to permit us to remove two rows of pews at the rear of the worship area:

We very much welcome this encouraging judgement, and the vote of confidence it represents in our vision for our growing Christian community.  This decision shows how past and future can live together, transforming the established by planning for the future through creative change.  In particular, it enables us to widen our welcome, so that people who might previously have felt excluded from our life and worship will be assured there is a place for them at St Anne's.

We are very conscious that some people find this decision disappointing, so there is much work to be done towards the whole church having a closer shared understanding of what ‘being church’ means.
